Aruba 2530 Switch Series Overview

The Aruba 2530 Switch Series by Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) provides a cost-effective solution for your enterprise branch office and SMB (Server Message Block) deployment. These switches provide the full Layer 2 support with all available features for advanced security, trunking, aggregation and traffic prioritization. Optionally you can select one of many different models. Some of them include PoE+ and optional 10GbE uplinks which will come in handy for the high bandwidth demanding access layer in enterprise deployments. This switch series provides full flexibility giving you the choice of choosing 8-, 24-, and 48-port models available with Gigabit or Fast Ethernet ports. On some 24- and 48- port models you will find four Gigabit or two 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports with either two small form-factor pluggable plus (SFP+) or four small form-factor pluggable (SFP) transceiver slots for fiber connectivity.

Aruba 2530 48G PoE+ Switch J9772A

this model provides 48 RJ-45 autosensing 10/100/1000 PoE+ ports supporting IEEE 802.3 10BASE-T, IEEE 802.3u 100BASE-TX, IEEE 802.3ab 1000BASE-T and IEEE 802.3at PoE+. It supports up to 104 Gbps switching capacity. This model supports duplex 10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX: half or full duplex, 1000BASE-T full duplex only. In addition it supports 4 fixed Gigabit Ethernet SFP ports as well as 1 dual-personality (RJ-45 or USB micro-B) serial console port.

Aruba 2530 24G PoE+ Switch J9773A

this model provides up to 56 Gbps switching capacity with up to 16000 entries in its MAC address table. This model features a decent port density with 24 RJ-45 autosensing 10/100/1000 PoE+ ports supporting IEEE 802.3 10BASE-T, IEEE 802.3u 100BASE-TX, IEEE 802.3ab 1000BASE-T and IEEE 802.3at PoE+. With this model you will be able to use the following media types: 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX both half and full duplex, 1000BASE-T only full duplex, 4 fixed Gigabit Ethernet SFP and 1 dual-personality (RJ-45 or USB micro-B) serial console cable

Aruba 2530 8G PoE+ Switch J9774A

this switch model provides 20 Gb/s switching capacity and up to 16000 MAC address table entries. It provides 8 RJ-45 autosensing 10/100/1000 PoE+ ports supporting 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX both full and half duplex, 1000BASE-T only full duplex and 2 dual-personality ports. Each of the ports provides the flexibility to be used as either an RJ-45 10/100/1000 port or as a SFP slot

Aruba 2530 48 PoE+ Switch J9778A

with the 7.6 Gbps switching capacity and up to 13 Mpps throughput capability this model has enough power for deployment in the access layer. In addition it provides great flexibility and port density providing 2 autosensing 10/100/1000 RJ-45 ports, 2 fixed Gigabit Ethernet SFP ports and 1 dual-personality (RJ-45 or USB micro-B) serial console port

Aruba 2530 24 PoE+ Switch J9779A

this model offers half of the density of the previous model but it provides the same properties. It supports 24 RJ-45 autosensing 10/100 PoE+ ports together with 2 fixed Gigabit Ethernet SFP ports and 1 dual-personality (RJ-45 or USB micro-B) serial console port. It has 12.8 Gbps switching capacity and 16000 MAC address table.

Aruba 2530 8 PoE+ Switch J9780A

this model offers 8 RJ-45 autosensing 10/100 PoE+ ports as well as 2 dual-personality ports or as a SFP slot (for use with SFP transceivers) ports. In addition it provides a single dual-personality (RJ-45 or USB micro-B) serial console port

Aruba 2530 48G Switch J9775A

this model is a standard 48 port switch without the Power over Ethernet support. It provides 48 RJ-45 autosensing 10/100/1000 ports. Additionally it provides 4 fixed Gigabit Ethernet SFP ports together with a single dual-personality (RJ-45 or USB micro-B) serial console port. It offers 104 Gbps switching capacity and up to 77.3 Mpps of throughput.

Aruba 2530 24G Switch J9776A

With 24 RJ-45 autosensing 10/100/1000 and 4 fixed Gigabit Ethernet SFP ports this model will provide up to 56 Gbps switching capacity and up to 41.6 Mbps throughput. This model can also be found in an 8 port version with service name J9777A

Aruba 2530 48G PoE+ 2SFP+ Switch J9853A

This model is a more advanced model compared to the previous ones. It offers up to 136 Gbps switching capacity and up to 101 Mbps throughput. It provides 48 RJ-45 autosensing 10/100/1000 PoE+ ports and 2 SFP+ fixed 1000/10000 SFP+ ports. With the 10GB Ethernet capability this switch is an ideal switch for uplink deployment

Aruba 2530 24G PoE+ 2SFP+ Switch J9854A

This model offers slightly lower capabilities and flexibility. It provides 24 RJ-45 autosensing 10/100/1000 ports with PoE+ support and 2 SFP+ fixed 1000/10000 SFP+ ports offering up to 88 Gbps switching capacity and up to 65.4 Mbps throughput

It is worth mentioning that every switch supports the Virtual stacking technology and you can mix and match different models. You can stack up to 16 different switches to operate as a single unit. The Aruba 2530 Switch series provide advanced Quality of Service (QoS) solutions including flexible authentication which would allow you a greater policy-driven application security. In addition with the configuration of IEEE802.1p traffic prioritization you will have a real time classification of the traffic. You can configure up to eight priority levels to be mapped to either two or four traffic queues. You will also find an advanced Denial of Service protection including protection against dynamic DHCP and ARP attacks. This protection also works perfectly with IPv6 network architectures.
